Description
Professor Yasushi Hoshino of the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan announces a revolutionary invention - a paper that speaks. The paper called the "synchro-sheet is coated on the back with a magnetic recording material. The front of the paper contains pictures and words, when the sheet of paper is placed on the synchro reader and played back the wordings and pictures appearing on the front are transferred into sounds. In other words the picture can be seen and the sound can be hoard at the same time. The synchro reader can also be substituted as a tape recorder. It is rr.uch simpler to operate than a tape recorder. Recording up to 15 minutes can be made on a single sheet of paper at a cost of only two cents per sheet. The paper can be folded and sent through the mails without losing any of the sound quality. Several copies can be reproduced from me original sheet by moans of a magnetic printer. The recording on the sheet of the paper can be stored away for a number of years. A special eraser makes it possible to erase the sound instantaneously and the same sheet of paper can be used over and over again. It is possible to bind the synchro sheet into book form and play it on the synchro reader. The synchro sheet will be especially convenient for sending voice letters, taking telephone calls learning through correspondence courses, learning foreign languages music practice, books for the blind etc.
