Description
A German submarine was reported today to have sunk in the North Sea yesterday evening. The eport cams from a Britain trawler which said she had picked up a survivor. The trawler, St. Martin, from Lowestoft the trawler identified the submarine by the NATO pennant number the Hamburg-built West German submarine HAI (SHARK). The Shark carried a crew of 15. She was built in 1945 and sunk in the Baltic at the end of the Second World War. She was raised in 1956 and re-commissioned on October 1, 1957 after being rebuilt at Kiel.
