Description
An all-electric car has been developed in England. Called the TEL, it runs on a light-weight battery at the cost of one English farthing (1/3 of a U. S. cent) a mile. It has a fibre-glass body, has a range of 40 miles on one charge and a maximum speed of 50 m.p.h It is seen as a “runabout’’ for shopping’, taking the children to school and similar short trips. The price in England is quoted as 1260. Picture shows Top: The TEL looking very conventional. Bottom left: The two-pedal control without clutch. Bottom right : Plugging-in in the garage for a recharge from the normal domestic supply. Batteries can be fully charged in 90 minutes or half charged in 30minutes.
