Description
Out from Plymouth yesterday sailed 16 vessels bound on a 2,000-mile trip around Britain. They set off in the first two-handed Round-Britain Sailing Race for a trophy and a prize of £1,000. Some of the boats have been specially designed for this particular race. PHOTO SHOWS: The yacht “SUMER” with an elongated hump on the deck is being sailed in the race by its owner? Lout-Col. "Blondie" HASLER, veteran of sole trans-Atlantic crossings, and his wife. It is seen here shortly after the start, sailing out into the Channel.
