On November 17th 1976, LEE STRASBERG (picture) will become 75 years old. The American, who was born in Poland, is known as a film director and as an actor but mainly as the founder (together with Elia Kazan) and leader of the world famous "Actor's Studio" in New York from which many famous stars have come. Marlon Brando, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Geraldine Page, Paul New-man, Joanne Woodward, Shelly Winters, Rod Steiger, Dustin Hofmann and Jane Fonda are only some of them. Lee Strasberg directed the Sidney Kingsley film "Men in White", which became the Pulitzer award and further directed amongst others "The Fifth Column", "Clash by Night" and "The Country Girl". 1969 he founded the "Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute" in New York and Los Angeles, in order to make his work, previously confined to the "Actor's Studio", available to a wider public.
