The two new ‘Baby’ cars of the British Motor Corporation - were shown to the press at Chobham, Surrey recently - and they are expected to create a sensation on the world’s car markets. They are the AUSTIN SBVEN (850) and the MORRIS MINI-MINOR (850) Mechanically both cars are the same - with front wheel drive - independent suspension all round; a Transverse mounted 850 c.c. 4 cylinder O.H.V. engine - and has a speed of 70 m.p.h. and does 50 m.p.h. it is a full four seater, with an all steel body. Basic price of the models is £350 plus £146-19-2d. Purchase tax, with the De-Lux e model about £40 dearer. KEYSTONE PHOTO SHOWS:- The new B.M.W. Baby proves its power by an easy climb of the 1 in 4 test gradient - at Chobham. It has front wheel drive from a transverse placed engine.
