The Brucker Survival Capsule is a new departure in the protection of life at sea. Conceived to fulfill its mission from the moment of die aster until rescue of its occupants. The 14-feet diameter. Lenticular-shaped capsule is fabricated of a fire-retardant fiberglass, with a radar reflective material, and has a steel center column for added strength. A sprinkler system wets the outer shell when oil slick fires encountered, while inside the air is purified and recirculated, keeping the occupants cool and in no danger of suffocation. It has self-righting stability with 28 people abroad. And cannot sink even if swamped. It is initially designed to meet the safety demands of all types of offshore vessels and plans are now being formulated for the develop a smaller 8-man survival capsule for use on cargo and fishing boats and on tankers, with a 35-man version fro lIners.
